About the software: I started learning to program in the early 2000s. It was—and still is—a relaxing hobby for me, largely because it engages a completely different part of my brain than my day-to-day work. As a hobbyist, I’ve always gravitated toward simpler, lower-level languages like Pascal and Basic. Today, I continue to build with these languages using tools like Delphi, Lazarus, and PureBasic.
The applications listed below aren't bloat-heavy, "vibe-coded" Electron apps. Coming from an era when developers had to optimize every byte of code to minimize RAM and CPU usage, I still stick to those principles today.
While I occasionally consult LLMs for guidance—for instance, navigating complex FFmpeg commands for DawProjectPilot would have been far tougher without AI assistance—I make sure to write, integrate, and thoroughly understand every line of code myself. If I don't understand how a piece of code works under the hood, I simply won't include it in my project.
